Born This Way, Express Yourself; similar?

Don't take me to the extreme! I'm not saying that they're the same song, or that Lady Gaga secretly listens to Madonna and got the tune for this song from that. I'm just saying that the notes are similar, that I think they has a similar melody, but just because of mere coincidence.



I think it's a cool coincidence, because Lady Gaga is the only new singer that can come close to what Madonna was: one album success after another, came up with own genre, invented a new style of dress and living (Madonna: punk rocker, Lady Gaga: Monster).



If Lady Gaga can keep it up until she turns 50, I think it would be close as to who was more famous. (according to % of population of coarse, and considering that media wasn't readily available during Madonna times: either you bought her tape or just listened to it on the radio or MTV).



But the question is still: Do you think that Born this Way and Express Yourself have similar (not the same) melodies?

I don't think there is any coincidence at all. Lady Gaga is a talented and intelligent music/artist/entertainer, she seems to be looking directly at the careers of Madonna, Marilyn Manson, and possibly David Bowie and reinventing them for her career. There is a void in the industry that she is able to fill.Born This Way, Express Yourself; similar?
i think lady gaga is without a doubt the biggest star in music but you must remember she wouldn't be copying madonna if madonna would've complained and send her to court because what if gaga asked madonna's blessing to copy her and her music and image!! hasn't it ever occured to you guys!!Born This Way, Express Yourself; similar?
