LGBT, what is your opinion on Lady Gaga's evolving mission to expand and revolutionize gay rights?

Currently, she's working on repealing DADT. If you've read her FB or seen the VMA's, you should know.



While I don't necessarily think it's the best idea to get political if you're a commercial artist, Gaga is different. Her herself is not a commercial artist. She's a lot more liberated than most in the industry today, obviously. Gaga's using her power to give LGBT a voice, attempting to reverse our oppressed minority. She's transforming her business into "quality over quantity", and I believe that was her plan in the beginning. Her quite possibly being the most powerful figure in the music industry today, I'm so grateful.



Her third album is dedicated to the gays, hence the title "Born This Way". I feel like she's starting a mini revolution. I can't wait until the release.LGBT, what is your opinion on Lady Gaga's evolving mission to expand and revolutionize gay rights?

I was reading the washington post and when i was looking at the comments almost all the people on there were criticizing her for trying to get DADT banned. I was so disgusted at what I was reading. I left my own comment at the bottom stating that what she was doing was right and that the elder generation for DADT is slowly going away.



as for the guy that's criticizing her; you need to look at your facts......i mean, who else has done as much as GaGa? and she's doing something about it.....what are you doing?LGBT, what is your opinion on Lady Gaga's evolving mission to expand and revolutionize gay rights?
I love her, and mostly why I love her is because of this.

She's not just some pop star, she actually wants to do something with her status. I love how she always thanks the gays and credits them with her success.
She's awesome. Even if she doesn't have a huge political influence her fans are influenced by her accepting nature and her fan base is huge.

I think she's fantastic for doing all that, but I'm not a huge fan of her music.

Except I listen to her music every once in a while. Guilty pleasure of mine.
Of course the music she makes is derivative. That's the nature of pop music. Everything gets recycled, repackaged. John, you are missing the point ! She is so wickedly subversive with how she goes about selling herself that it's breathtaking to watch. She freely acknowledges that she is a media whore. How else does one sell anything in a mass culture ? Her honesty and irony stands Capitalism, the Church and the State as well as the inherently fascistic music industry on their respective heads ! Gotta love her for that. Oh and she does some catchy tunes too.

I think she is full of it!

She does not care about her fans or the gays as she always claims. And how foolish of you to think she is about quality over quantity. She is all about quantity. She is fooling all of you little monsters and laughing all the way to the bank.

This woman is from a very privelleged background (she went to private school with paris hilton!). She is no dummy and is manipulating all of you who think she is doing anything REAL for the LGBT community. Its pop music man - wake the hell up. She isnt demanding rights for us or anything. She is selling MILLIONS of records.
