What was it like having your first litter of kitties?

I thought my cat had a false preggo but this Monday she looked way different and I felt her. She had babies in her belly! She tried to follow me out the door all desperate. I didn't really take notice to what she was telling me. When I got home I went looking around my home to find her and I called out her name and I hear this loud cry and I ran to see where she was. I found her curled up in my favorite blanket! With two babies Coconut and Lady Gaga. I was so mad about my blanket but really happy about the babies. I got to watch two more be born, Cookies 'n' Cream and Moo Moo. (dumb names I know. Lady Gaga got her name because the new album of 'Lady Gaga" came out that day. Thought it'd be cute CX). I got to hold and touch the babies just fine without my Kiwi(her mom) rejecting them. It's rare for this to happen I hear but lucky for me I was one of them.

it was exciting! my kitty Ichigo had babies in her little cat cubby thing when i came home from school. she had 6! and she let me hold them all, but with other ppl she would kinda growl at until they were a lil older. but have fun and make sure to keep a close eye on them and make sure the mommy doesnt suffocate them, thats what happened on her third litter, she fell asleep on them. :(What was it like having your first litter of kitties?
It's not all that rare for the momma cat to want her human to be close by when mom has kittens. Back when I was breeding Siamese, one cat had her first litter of kittens in my lap. Foo just did not want me to leave!

However, after the kittens are weaned, you should have mom cat spayed. There are way too many unwanted cats in this world now. What was it like having your first litter of kitties?
Difficult when you cannot find homes for them and realize they can have or make even more kittens as early as 4 0r 5 months old.. and that most animal shelters kill them. Mom needs spaying or you can soon be over run with cats... good luck.. (also you cannot be sure who you give the kittens to will take good care of them for their life span). Good care is having them spayed or neutered and keeping them as indoor pets where it is safe..
