I was just playing Bad Romance on my violin when my mom told me to practice, and then she started yelling at me for playing such "bad music" by an artist that is... a bunch of swear words, apparently. I went back to playing the usual classical music, but then during my free time, I started to learn Edge of Glory, and I had it playing on my iPod. She came in and started screaming at me, again, asking, didn't I hear her the first time. Now, she took my iPod and deleted all of her songs, and now she's moderating all the songs I'm listening to, making sure there is no Lady Gaga anymore. I love Lady Gaga so much, though, especially her knew album. I've tried explaining to my mom how inspirational the Born this Way album is, but my mom won't listen. How else can I convince her to let me listen to Lady Gaga?|||Jesus.
So many Y!A users are against Lady Gaga nowadays.
She doesn't even freaking advocate anything bad, apart from the fact she's a SHOCK ARTIST. She intends on doing this for shock value.
Lady Gaga can actually sing too! If anyone looks up her as Stefani Germanotta and her Electric Kiss song, it's done pretty well.
%26amp;I'm curious of what people think that "one thing" LG's songs revolve around...Dance in the Dark was about not being afraid anymore to be yourself (and a bit about abused women). Bad Romance is about falling in love with your best friend. Edge of Glory, iirc, is about how she got to where she was despite where she was before. Born This Way's message is obvious.
Honestly, as you can tell, you can't really convince haters.
I'd advise you to possibly get a veryyy cheap MP3 player, maybe 1-2 gb, and put LG music on there. I'm not sure how you'll get money if you have none though.
Another possible thing is listening to maybe more morbid music, but that might have worse consequences. Or something "worse" than Lady Gaga. I can list a bunch of artists who glorify drugs, alcohol, and death.

#1 Your mom shouldn't be swearing at you because of music your playing(Especially if not vulgar or no swear words in it, the music that is not her LOL)
#2 She should let you listen to whoever you choose, whether SHE likes them or not. I'm sure her parents didn't approve of all her music
#3 She shouldn't be deleting songs off of your ipod, it's your ipod, your musical taste.

Play some Handel or Wagner. If you're inspired by Lagy Gaga, then you should reassess everything. I've tried to relate to her songs. I can't. Obviously your mom has some strong opinions about what good music is, but she shouldn't have deleted music from your ipod. Let it ride for a few days then maybe broach the subject. Your mom probably has heard a lot of negative stuff about LG, and may find her many strange getups a little too out there for her liking. Maybe you can change her mind with a convincing argument that is pro Gaga, or pro pop music.|||Shes right. Most pop artist suck. I hear rumors that they change their voices in the studio. Not so sure thats true. But i think it is because you never see them play live at any shows.
But if you want to convince her into letting you listen to her than i would just say go rebellious. Meaning not to care what she says and listen to her anyways. P.S. Justin Bieber does suck!|||Most of her lyrics revolve around one thing and one thing only. I wouldn't let my kids listen to her either. Lady Gaga isn't a good influence on anybody and she's talentless. at some point her fans will see that. She just relies on auto tune and has no talent what so ever.
