No.

- Let's remember that the first year of this decade isn't over. In the next couple of years, who knows, a new band could pop out. We have no idea on what music is going to be like in five years (I'd like to see a return to rock and general diversity in music and more risks taken)

-Lady Gaga is very commercial. In her video clip for Telephone, I played 'spot the brand' and I could list heaps. In short, she only got the deal because she could sell heaps

-Did I mention Radiohead and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are releasing albums next year? She won't even get album of the year by the looks of her competition for that status. Even if you are not a fan of these bands, critics and the public love them and are destined to be well received

-Lady Gaga has heavy use of autotune. We'd all like to think that the best album of the decade uses real voices, not tuned just to grab fans

-Hopefully, we'd all come to terms with that 80's are over. If you want to shock or make people think, come up with your own ideas. Don't pick a decade the music producers were in bands in an attempt to win them over.

-The harsh reality of pop music is that the best songs on the album are always the singles. Other songs tend to suck. Other genres put much effort in all of their songs equally. Whilst singles for less-known artists are used to show artistic abilities and find representations for the band, in pop music they just act as adverts

For the pop scene - i think she's fantastic.

Without a doubt, in my mind, she is the best thing the radio has seen in my radio memory life (1997+)



However, keep in mind that Australian radio stations are pretty ****, and i'm not taking into account the radio station Triple-J, who i don't listen to much, but know they play songs from bands like tool and such.



So maybe the best pop album, but she isn't anywhere near talented enough to compare with most albums from the metal scene - or even the alt rock scene.

Sorry I don't have any respect for Lady Gaga. She's an attention-seeker Madonna wannabe(via the outfits) whose music sounds like cheesy bad 80's club music in my opinion.
